Kamal Haasan has made a plea to his fans not to celebrate his birthday this year as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa remains hospitalised. The universal star turns 62 on November 7.

The actor took to Twitter to request his fans and posted, "In view of Chief Minister's health, I request my fans club to avoid celebrating by birthday." It may be recalled that the actor had wished Jayalalithaa a speedy recovery on Twitter soon after she was hospitalised.

Every year, the official fans club of Kamal Haasan organises various events across Tamil Nadu on the ocassion of his birthday. It is a common sight to see banners and posters wishing the actor and fans also cut cakes in his name and distribute sweets among members of the club.

While these celebrations are likely to be cancelled following his appeal, the charity work on Kamal Haasan's birthday like ever year is expected to be held this year as well. The fans may also conduct special prayers for the speedy recovery of Jayalalithaa.

Jayalalithaa is under treatment and observation for vital parameters, respiratory support and physiotherapy at the Apollo Hospitals in Chennai. The AIADMK supremo was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai on September 22 after she experienced fever and dehydration.

However, Kamal Haasan has not paid a visit to the hospital yet and the leg injury that he suffered in August might be the reason.

His next movie is Sabaash Naidu, which is being simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu. His daughter Shruti Haasan, Ramya Krishnan, Saurabh Shukla and others are in the cast. The universal star himself is producing and directing the upcoming movie.
