Aquaman will first appear in the November release Justice League before he heads to the Amnesty Bay shore for his spin off. While there is no official word on the storyline of Justice League and Aquaman movies, it appears that hints of how the sequences of the DCEU movies will be placed have been revealed.

Dropping spoilers, DC films executive producer Charles Roven revealed how the James Wan directorial will pan out and will tie the Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg-led Justice League.

Talking to CinemaBlend, Roven discussed about the 2018 release. He confirmed that Aquaman will be set in the aftermath of Justice League.

"Aquaman will make reference [to Justice League]. There will be some reference of something that preceded Aquaman that will be in Aquaman. I believe that is the intention," Roven confirmed.

The producer also confirmed that the Aquaman movie will not only be set post Justice League, it will also draw elements that directly connect the November release movie. So it is safe to inform fans to keep an eye out for all kinds of Easter eggs in Justice League with regard to Aquaman.

The details about Jason Momoa-starrer were revealed to the website during the Los Angeles press day of Wonder Woman. While the direct connection will only be revealed once the movie is released, but there are going to be a few loose ends that will tie down only after Aquaman movie releases.

This new update also confirms that Aquaman's plot will have a number of flashback sequences to establish the superhero. Unlike Wonder Woman, which acts as a prequel to the events of Batman v Superman, Aquaman will juggle a different storytelling.

"James [Wan] definitely knows where he's going with [Aquaman], and that movie takes place in a world where Justice League happened, and Man of Steel happened, and Wonder Woman obviously takes place before Man of Steel — except for the bookends we have. So that's where we have the most ability to freeform.

We could do a movie that takes place after Justice League, we can do a movie that takes place after Batman v Superman... well not really. You can't do a movie in between Batman v Superman and Justice League, but we can do movies that take place after Justice League and we can do movies that precede Justice League," the producer said explaining the DCEU timeline.

Wonder Woman, which is set in World War I, has adopted to establish the female superhero's roots and tell the tale of her love, disappointment and how she connects with Ben Affleck's Batman. The movie could show a few glimpses from the epic war from the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Fans hope that the movie drops a few teasers to the Justice League.

Wonder Woman releases on June 2, Justice League on November 17 and Aquaman releases on December 21 next year.
