Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa is reportedly stable and recovering with a team of three AIIMS doctors and one doctor from London assisting in treatment at the Apollo Hospital in Chennai.

Sixty-eight-year-old Jayalalithaa has been in the hospital for two weeks after she complained of fever and dehydration on September 22. The team of doctors include heart and lung specialists.

The hospital had released a statement on Wednesday saying that the chief minister's health is improving and that her treatment, which includes antibiotics and other clinical assistance, is being continued. The statement added that she has been advised to stay at the hospital for a few more days.

The Madras High Court has ordered the Tamil Nadu government to release regular updates on Jayalalithaa's health as it would "reduce the anxiety of people."

Opposition leaders like DMK Chief Karunanidhi have requested the AIADMK party to release a photograph to prove that her condition is not serious. However, her party dismissed all demands for release of photographs. The party also filed police complaints against four persons for "spreading rumours" on social media platforms.
