Five Mollywood movies are set to fight it out on 10 October. Binu S's "Ithihasa", Akku Akbar's "Mathai Kuzhappakkaranalla", Rakesh Gopan's "100 Degree Celsius", Alok R Nath's "Persiakaran" and John Robinson's "Asha Black" will hit theatres on the same day.

"Ithihasa" is touted as a fantasy comedy entertainer, "Mathai Kuzhappakkaranalla" and "100 Degree Celsius" are family entertainers, "Persiakaran" deals with more complex topics of Middle East life, "Asha Black" is said to be an emotional thriller.

"Ithihasa"

"Ithihasa", a blend of comedy, fantasy and romance is directed by debutant Binu S. The film stars Anushree, Shine Tom Chacko and Balu Varghese in the lead roles.

The story of the film revolves around a thousand-year-old magical ring, which gets into the hands of two thieves, Alby and Vikku. Things get worse when one day Alvy turns to a woman because of the ring.

Shine plays the role of Alvy and Balu plays Vikku in the film. The highlight of the film is said to be the performance by the lead actress, Anushree, who starts exhibiting male behaviours.

"Ithihasa" will also have a huge star cast of Joy Mathew, Sunil Sugatha, Valsala Menon, Ambika Mohan, Swapna Menon, Divya Prabhu, Nobi, Binu Adimali and Binoy in significant roles.

The script is penned by debutant Anish Ashok and the dialogues are written by Anil Narayanan. "Ithihasa" is produced by Rajesh Augustine under the banner of ARK Media.

"Mathai Kuzhappakkaranalla"

"Mathai Kuzhappakkaranalla" is touted as a family entertainer starring Jayasurya and Bhama in the lead. Jayasurya will play the title character Mathai and Bhama will be seen as his fiancée, who is a legal practitioner.

The story of the Akku Akbar directorial revolves around Mathai, who is always ready to lend his hands to help others. He interferes in the life of others necessarily and unnecessarily with a good intention, but always gets into trouble.

The film also has Mukesh, Lakshmi Gopalaswami, Sreejith Ravi, Aju Varghese, Thezni Khan, Jayaraj Warrier and Sasi Kallinga in pivotal roles. It is produced by Anto Joseph under the banner of Anto Joseph Film Company and is distributed by Ann Mega Media.

"100 Degree Celsius"

"100 Degree Celsius" is a women centric thriller, which is written and directed by Rakesh. The film has Shwetha Menon, Bhama, Meghana Raj, Ananya and Haritha Parokod in significant roles.

The story is reportedly inspired by a real life incident and revolves around these five leading characters who live together in an apartment. Unexpectedly, their life takes a turn when they get involved in an incident, which happens in their apartment.

"100 Degree Celsius" is produced by Royson Vellara under the banner of RR Entertainments.

"Persiakaran"

"Persiakaran" directed by Alok R Nath is completely shot in Dubai. The film deals with the complex life of people who are settled in the Middle East.

The film has Mukesh, Adil, Jubi Nainan, Praveen Gopse, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Praveen Ramachandran and Sudhekshina in pivotal roles. The film has also introduced 40 fresh faces to the Malayalam film industry.

"Persiakaran" is produced by Sanal Thottam, Harikumar Chalakal, Satheesh Vellayani and Sanjeev Bhaskar under the banner of New TV.

"Asha Black"

"Asha Black" is directed by John Robinson and is touted as an emotional thriller. The film has "Thanmathra" fame Arjun Lal, new comer Ishitha, Sharath Kumar and Devan in important roles.

The story of the film revolves around some black episodes in the life of a young girl named Asha (Ishitha), who lives in Malaysia. She is the daughter of a wealthy corporate honcho. She yearns for her father's affection; when she fails to get it, her life takes a turn.

"Asha Black" is a Malayalam and Tamil bilingual film produced under the banner of Nimita Productions.
