ISL News: Delhi Dynamos Boss van Veldhoven Dissapointed With Draw, While Herbert Praises NorthEast United's Performance

Delhi Dynamos boss Harm van Veldhoven admits he was a little disappointed after seeing his side held to a goalless draw at home by NorthEast United FC, even though he insists he is happy to see his team maintain their unbeaten record in the inaugural season of the Indian Super League.

Despite not losing a single game in the ISL, Dynamos are currently fourth in the table due to the fact that they have drawn three out of their opening four fixtures.

Following their convincing 4-1 win over Chennaiyin FC, the Dynamos were expected to win this game against NorthEast United. But, the Feyenoord-affiliated side were not able to find the net to secure the three points, despite creating a lot of chances.

And van Veldhoven feels his team could have done much better against the John Abraham co-owned side.

"There is room for improvement in some areas of the team," van Veldhoven told ISL's official website after the match. "I felt that we had a lot of possibilities to win this match. I do not want to talk about the negatives but I also think we can do much better."

However, the Dutch-Belgian boss says that he is satisfied with the Dynamos performances in the ISL so far, claiming that his team have balance.

"The most important thing for me is how the team is working; there are some times when the team is not working and there is no balance; so it's not only creating the chances but also having the balance in your team," he added.

Despite being six points behind leaders Atletico de Kolkata, who have played one additional game, van Veldhoven insists that the Dynamos will be aiming for the ISL title.

"I see a lot of spirit in the eyes of the players and also a lot of potential so we're aiming for the maximum," he said.

Meanwhile, NorthEast United boss Ricki Herbert feels that his side played "really well" in New Delhi.

NorthEast United were not the favourites against the Delhi Dynamos but they still did well, creating nine chances in the game.

And Herbert feels his young side are only getting better day by day.

"I think we played really well tonight," the New Zealander said. "We kept a clean sheet, and this team keeps growing day by day. As I said last night, it's important to invest in these players."

NorthEast United are currently third in the Indian Super League, with eight points from five fixtures. And the former New Zealand manager feels that his side's good run in the ISL has been due to their excellent team chemistry.

"I think the link-up between the players has been great. They hang around in the hotel, talking and sharing experiences," he remarked.
