Kerala Blasters coach Peter Taylor has been sacked with immediate effect; the club's assistant coach Trevor James Morgan will be replacing him as the new manager.

A statement from the Indian Super League said that the decision was a mutual one, and  Kerala Blasters thanked the English coach for his efforts and contribution during the association.

This is the first time in the history of the Indian Super League that a head coach has been relieved of his duties in the mid-season.

Kerala Blasters are currently at the rock-bottom in the league; after six games, they have just recorded four points and have just a single win so far.

They lost 3-2 against FC Pune City at the Balewadi Stadium in Pune yesterday.
