Apple appears to be losing ground in smartphone market. Not that it's incurring loss but hype around its flagship devices has shrunk over the years.

Apple's shares dropped ahead of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus release, giving a clear hint that investors were not happy. Lack of novelty is the reason for bad publicity and it is common knowledge that Apple is used to release new devices with some feature upgrades.

The Cupertino-based giant hasn't revealed anything about its upcoming flagship device dubbed as iPhone 7. But people started talking about it – even before the release of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. It is expected to come with a major overhaul over its predecessor, so many will be wondering whether to buy the current flagship device or wait for iPhone 7.

iPhone 6s sports a 4.7-inch LED-backlit IPS screen with Retina HD and 1334 x750 pixels (326ppi pixel density), A9 chip, iOS 9 (upgradable to iOS 9.0.2), 16/64/128GB internal memory, 2 GB RAM, 12 MP iSight with 4K video recording, 5 MP front camera and a non-removable 1,810 mAh battery. It is priced at Rs 62,000 for its base model (16 GB), Rs 72,000 for 64 GB variant and Rs 82,000 for the 128 GB model.

iPhone 7 is expected to feature a wireless charger. It is also expected to have a new design with complete metal body. The device is said to come with an A10 chip and six-element lenses under the hoods.

Now, should you buy iPhone 6s or wait for iPhone 7?

Well, iPhone 7 may come with many new features and iPhone 6s may have not lived up to the expectations of its fans but the fact is that the former is still a year away.

Apple has the tradition of releasing its flagship devices in the third quarter of the year. So, the release date of iPhone 7 is also expected to fall in the month of September as iPhone 6s will complete a year in the market by that time.

Now the question is whether gadget lovers will wait for a year for the release of a new device. It's a long time, and it's worth grabbing the present flagship smartphone – iPhone 6s.
