It took more than a month for iOS 8 jailbreak to arrive after the software was released. But jailbreak for the recently released iOS 9 could come sooner than expected, at least that's what an expert on the matter has hinted.

The release date of iOS 9 jailbreak is still not confirmed but it might be launched anytime soon, if history is any indication. Hinting that it is not far off, iH8sn0w, developer of popular jailbreak tools such as Sn0wbreeze, P0sixspwn and iFaith, has released a video showing an untethered iPhone 5 running a jailbroken iOS 9 on YouTube. 

"Poking into iOS 9 is fun. A little annoyed at some new things. But very surprised at how similar it is to iOS 8 internally," said the description of the video with the caption: "Untethered iOS 9 Jailbreak (with Verbose, Custom Boot Logo, and Code Injection)"

"Worth noting, iOS 9+ arm64 iDevices now enforce a checksum on __TEXT/DATA.const regions of the kernel through the use of TrustZone. Modifying said sections will cause the device to panic (either at kernel or EL3 will force a reboot if the kernel refused to gracefully panic). Essentially, it's KPP (Kernel Patch Protection). You can race it though if you want to play with things. Just be quick!" it added.

"Also, there should technically now be two additional partitions (baseband_data [s1s3] and logs [s1s4]) but didn't really bother with those as they weren't critical."

There is no mention on the release date of the iOS 9 jailbreak but the video has given hope that it could come anytime. The iPhone 5 is powered by a 32-bit processor, unlike the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and 6s that use a 64-bit processor, but that should not be much an issue as far as iOS 9 jailbreak is concerned.

It may also be mentioned that Apple credited Pangu and TaiG Jailbreak Teams in its iOS 9 Security Content document for finding an issue "with validation of the code signature of executables." So, they could be trying to find out weaknesses and risk of jailbreaking the iOS 9.
