One of the main attractions of this edition of the Indian Super League is NorthEast United FC marquee player Simao Sabrosa, undoubtedly. The former Portugal international is expected to bring fireworks, owing to his immense experience.

After plying his trade with European heavyweights like Atletico Madrid and Benfica and rubbing shoulders with the greats of the game, the Portuguese winger is expected to make a mark in Indian football.

He is "super excited" as well to share his experience with Indian players and help them in his best way.

"I'm super excited to start pre-season, to get to know my teammates and all the people at the club. Really looking forward to it! I will share all my experience, demonstrate what I have learned, and pass on my knowledge on a professional level," Simao told ISL's official site.

The former Barcelona man, known for his dribbling prowess and being a dead-ball specialist, is looking forward to plying his trade in the lucrative football league in India and says he wants to be a major player at NorthEast United FC and guide them to winning the ISL 2015 title.

"Everyone I have spoken to has good things to say about the Hero ISL – from players who were there to the press worldwide. They all say it is very well organised and will get better with each year. I want to be a major player at the club and help the team win the championship," the 35-year-old said.

Royal Wahingdoh revelation Seityasen Singh, who was picked in the ISL auction by the North East outfit this year, is very keen on playing alongside his experienced teammate in the tournament. And Seityasen is delighted that the Portuguese plays in a similar position which he plays in.

"Simao is a legend. I am looking to learning from him as he is also a winger who has played at the highest level. I hope to gain from this experience," the 23-year-old told the Times of India.

The Portuguese player, who has played alongside the likes of Luis Figo and Cristiano Ronaldo, during international assignments, also mentioned that he prefers to play in the number 10 position.

"I prefer to play the attacking midfielder, the so-called number 10," Simao stated.

The John Abraham-owned side take on Kerala Blasters in their opening encounter of ISL 2015 on 6 October.
