It's neither Raul, Thierry Henry, Milan Baros nor Andrey Arshavin; Portuguese forward Helder Postiga is the marquee signing for Atletico de Kolkata for the Indian Super League 2.0.

The former Porto, Spurs, and Valencia forward has been announced to don the cap as the marquee player by the Kolkata-based ISL franchisee today.

It is, however, unknown whether last edition's marquee player Luis Garcia is set to continue playing with the ISL champions, this year.

Postiga becomes the second Portuguese player this year to become ISL's marquee player, after Simao Sabrosa was revealed earlier this month to be the marquee player for NorthEast United FC.

ATK head coach Antonio Habas has lapped up the signing of the player.

"The presence of Postiga will definitely bolster the team for the season ahead and also allow the Indian and International players to learn from him about the way he goes about preparing for a major tournament like ISL," the Spanish coach was quoted as saying.

"He will have an altogether different experience when he plays in front of Kolkata's football aficionados. I am sure Postiga's presence will make the city and ATK fans proud."

The 32-year-old midfielder played a key role in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil as he scored as many as six goals in the qualifiers to the World Cup for Portugal and also made a start in a game against USMNT (United States Men's National Soccer Team).

Postiga replaced an injured Hugo Almeida to start the game as Portugal's campaign in the World Cup last year ended in the group stages.

He signed for Spanish outfit Deportivo La Coruna only last summer.
