It is Raksha Bandhan special on Indian Idol 10 this weekend, and some special bonds have been formed, especially between the judges Neha Kakkar and Vishal Dadlani. And the icing on the cake was that Neha Kakkar received a gift from her real siblings as well - her brother Tony Kakkar's present that her sister Sonu Kakkar brought along.
Raksha Bandhan (Rakshabandhan) or Rakhi is a day in the Hindu calendar when women tie a rakhi - a holy and colourful thread - to their brothers and seek protection from evil elements. This day is made special with the brother's promise of protection and the exchange of gifts between the siblings or cousins.
Rakshabandhan 2018 will be celebrated on Sunday, August 26, by Hindus (and people from other communities also) across India and abroad. A Rakhi can be tied to your real brother or cousin, or anyone who you think can be your brother and be there for you.
Singer-composer Vishal Dadlani and singer Neha Kakkar, two of the judges on music reality show Indian Idol 10, formed such a special brother-sister bond on the show. Vishal Dadlani willingly wanted to be Neha Kakkar's brother. Neha Kakkar, too, felt that her senior in the industry, Vishal Dadlani will be the best brother to her.
In the Raksha Bandhan 2018 special episode of Indian Idol 10, as Neha Kakkar brought along an aarti thali and a rakhi, Vishal Dadlani put his right hand forward and requested her to tie a rakhi on his wrist. Neha tied a Rakhi to Vishal and both judges hugged each other.
"This was all in the moment and it came from within. She is such a wonderful girl and I have told her that this Bhai is going to be there for her always," said Vishal. "But I think Neha does not need a brother to protect her, she can protect me instead," added Vishal jokingly.
"It was extremely sweet of Vishal to step up and a get a rakhi tied from me when our host Maniesh Paul jokingly refused to get a rakhi tied from me. There is a special bond I have with Vishal and now even more so after this!" said Neha.
Neha Kakkar was even more happy to receive a gift from her siblings! Her sister Sonu Kakkar made a surprise entry to Indian Idol 10 and delivered Neha Kakkar's gift from their brother Tony Kakkar who lives in Los Angeles. What was the gift? A family photo from their childhood!
Sonu Kakkar revealed how Neha gets small gifts for everyone. Vishal Dadlani and Sonu Kakkar then performed on their song Madari.
