India are all set to play the fourth and final Test match of the series against South Africa at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi from 3 December. It will be almost a dream homecoming for skipper Virat Kohli, as he will lead Team India for the first time in his hometown.
Having achieved a number of huge feats early in his captaincy stint, Kohli will be looking to end this series with a 3-0 win over the no 1 Test team in the world.
"It will be a proud moment to see him lead India on his home turf. One memorable thing that happened was, even though it was a sad day for him, he played a great innings for Delhi the day his father passed away. But his father's demise matured him in a different way. It shows in how he wants to win matches by himself," said Kohli's childhood coach and mentor Rajkumar Sharma
"His journey has been smooth barring one hiccup during his under-14 days when he was not selected. He has performed wherever he has played after that. Given the way the association is run, it is good in a way that Virat didn't have to stay back here for long to build his career."
Under Kohli's leadership, India have now defeated Sri Lanka at the latters' backyard after 22 years. And now, they have ended South Africa's outstanding overseas run of nine years wihtout a loss. Recently, a former India captain heaped praise on Kohli saying the Delhi-lad reminds him of his captaincy days.
Kohli is also aware of the situation in DDCA and according to his mentor he gets disturbed by how things have been running there.
"He doesn't talk about the DDCA. He gets disturbed knowing how things are being run here. But he certainly keeps asking who's coming through the ranks. Be it an Unmukt Chand or the ones he practises with while he is in town, he wants to know their progress."
