India Bangladesh Fatullah Ground Rain
Rain has been the lead actor in the Test Match between Bangladesh and IndiaIANS

It was the same old story again, with fans given a glimpse of what might have been a really good day of Test match cricket between Bangladesh and India, before the rains came down in all its glory.

The wet weather just refuses to relent – can't really blame them can you, considering it is the rainy season – and as a result, what we have got is an inevitable draw with India running through the top three Bangladesh batsmen, but allowed to do little after that.

Bangladesh were on 111/3 in 30.1 overs when the rain came down, leaving R Ashwin and Harbhajan Singh, who had started to bowl in tandem really well, to wonder what might have been.

Had there been enough time, there is a good chance that the two off-spinners of India would have troubled the Bangladesh batsmen a lot more, having already picked up three wickets in the first 30 overs.

However, such has been the havoc created by rain, now that even if we are to get a full day's play on the final day of the Test match, there is no way Bangladesh are going to lose 17 wickets, which is what would need to happen for India to win.

The home team currently trail India by 351 runs, and maybe they can just turn this match into a one-inning one-day match on Sunday to at least make it interesting.

Ironically, it would mean very little if rain were to stay away on Sunday, considering the state of the game, which is a little sad, because this could have turned out to be a belter of a Test match.

At the very least, from both team's perspective, they will want to get some more time out in the middle, ahead of more challenges.

Harbhajan took a little while to find his groove, but once he did, he did look good, while Ashwin showed just why he is so potent in sub-continental conditions.

With matches against Sri Lanka and South Africa to come up later this season, Kohli will hope Harbhajan and Ashwin get to bowl a lot more together on the final day, just so that they can get that combination going, because, on the evidence of a few overs together on Day 4, there could be something seriously "they are going to take a lot of wickets together" in there.
