ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: Highest Run Scorers, Wicket Takers, Individual Score and Best Bowling Figures

Australia won the ICC Cricket World Cup for the fifth time in tournament's history after defeating New Zealand in the finals at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Mitchell Starc was awarded the man of the tournament for his incredible performance with the white ball. He took 22 wickets in the tournament.

But there were other contenders as well, who performed reasonably well like Martin Guptill, who finished the tournament as the highest run scorer. Trent Boult was another such performer, who tormented his opponents with the ball in his hand.

With the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 coming to an end, here is a look at the highest run scorers, wicket takers, individual scores and the best bowling figures. 

Highest Run-Scorers

Martin Guptill finished as the highest run scorer in the World Cup with 547 runs against his name. The player did not come into the competition in good form, but gradually started to score runs and played an important role for the Black Caps in their terrific run until the finals.

It was his 237 not out against the West Indies, which the world would remember forever.

Highest Wicket-Takers

Mitchell Starc and Trent Boult were the standout bowlers of the tournament and both the left arm fast bowlers deservedly finished with 22 wickets each. These bowlers made batsmen's life miserable, as they not only were hard to score of, but bowled some unplayable deliveries as well.

With the game being dominated by batsman most of the times, it was a joy to watch the left armers taking it to the batsman for a change.

Highest Individual scores

There were some great innings during the competition, but one inning which stood above the rest as far as the number of runs scored was Martin Guptill's 237 runs against West Indies, which has to be one of the cleanest hitting that the world has ever seen.

The innings played at Westpac stadium, Wellington comprised of 24 fours and 11 mighty sixes.

Best Bowling figures

Tim Southee's bowling against England at Wellington was top class, where he floored English batsmen with his bowling skills. He took 7 wickets for 33 runs and the English team lost all their wickets for 123 runs only.

It would not be wrong to say that this bowling performance of Southee inspired the other members of the Black Caps to perform better.
