The 2015 IAFF World Championships is just a couple of days away. The nine-day is all set to start from 22 August. Athletes from around the world will be seen in action for the prestigious track and field events at the Bird's Nest in Beijing, which also hosted the 2008 Beijing Games.

There are 24 different disciplines in the men's competition and 23 in women's. Here is a look at some of the key events.

Men's Events

100m

This event has always been one of the most watched in the world and the competition in the men's 100m is going to be top notch this time around, with Usain Bolt defending his title against some equally good runners such as Asafa Powell and Justin Gatlin. It may be recalled that Gatlin was one of the most impressive runners in the Diamond League. Bolt may have been suffering from injuries, but the Jamaican continues to be a huge favourite.
