Korean auto-maker Hyundai is reportedly set to release its all new i20 in India by the second week of August, claims a new report.

Automobile website Rushlane, citing its sources in Tamil Nadu reported that the Hyundai's much-awaited next-generation i20 will reach Indian market by 15 August.

However, the report did not specify the exact launch date of the car in the domestic market.

As per report, new i20 will be costlier than its out-going model. The top-end diesel model of upcoming i20 will fall in the price range of ₹9 lakh-₹10 lakh.

In another development, i20, which is just a couple of days away from its speculated launch, has been once again caught on camera while testing. Thanks to the folks at Carwale. The latest test mule was also caught with camouflage, hiding its new front and rear fascia.

However, it reveals the revised tail lamps and the alloy wheel design of the car. The front and rear fascia of the car is also expected to get changes, including re-worked headlight and bumper.

On the mechanical front, the new gen i20 is likely to carry the same 1.4-litre diesel and 1.2-litre Kappa2 engine, which is likely to come mated to either a five-speed or a six-speed manual transmission in India.

While the petrol engine is expected to churn out 83 bhp of power and 113 Nm of peak torque, the diesel engine is to give 89 bhp of power and 219 Nm of torque. In the international market, the car is likely to be offered with 1.1 litre 3 pot diesel engine, 1.2 litre 4 pot gasoline engine, 1.0 and 1.4 liter diesel motors.

Talking of the design of the new i20, we expect the car to flaunt a similar design language and the styling of its predecessor and when launched the car will rival Maruti Suzuki Swift, Fiat Punto, Tata Bolt, Toyota Etios Liva and Ford Figo in the sub-continent market.

As far as the features are concerned, the upcoming i20 is likely to parade a slew of new features like climate control, keyless entry, steering mounted audio controls, reverse camera, parking sensors and automatic day/night interior mirror.
