A new prototype of Hyundai Elite i20 Cross has been spied testing, indicating that the work is progressing in a rapid pace.
The latest spy shots come from IndianautosBlog and in the images, the test mule is seen camouflaged. As we know already, Elite i20 cross is a crossover based on Hyundai's latest offering Elite i20 and the car will share a lot of similarities with its small sibling.
Talking of the changes expected in the big car of Elite i20, the front fascia of i20 Cross is expected to accommodate new projector headlight with LED daytime running lights .There is also new alloy wheel patterns on the menu.
The car is also expected to get features like plastic cladding, roof railing and side-body cladding, which is common with the crossover models. Inside the cabin too, the upcoming Elite i20 Crossover is expected to host changes including the centre console.
Designed to rival Toyota Etios Cross, Fiat Avventura and Volkswagen Polo Cross in India, new Elite i20 Cross is tipped to mark its entry into the burgeoning market in the first half of 2015.
Under the hood, the i20 crossover is likely to get the same engine of its smaller sibling elite i20. The current Elite i20 packs 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.4 litre CRDi diesel motor. While the petrol engine of churns out 83PS power and a peak torque of 114Nm, the diesel motor is tuned to generate 90PS power and a peak torque of 220Nm.
Speaking of the price, the Elite i20 cross is likely to get a price tag around ₹8 lakh.
