The VR industry is a fast growing one: In the latest edition of CES 2016, Oculus Rift made its mark by announcing the pre-order dates, price and specifications, and now it is the turn of HTC Vive, a new VR headset, which is the result of partnership between HTC and Valve.

HTC Vive was also showcased at CES 2016 with several changes in comparison with an earlier version. Today, HTV Vive has announced it will be open to pre-order from 29 February. And the headsets will start shipping sometime in April, reported TechCrunch.

Though HTC has not shared many of the details on pricing and others, it has promised it will be revealing it before the pre-orders.

The HTC Vive promises "friction-free, truly immersive virtual reality". It will feature high-quality graphics, 90 fps video headsets, audio fidelity, Full Room Scale 360 Degree Solution with Tracked Controllers.

One of the major differences between HTC Vive and other VR headsets is letting users stand up and move around. Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR and Gear VR concentrates on "sit-down content", Mashable reported. Vive also makes use of the entire room and turns into a VR space.

The games in Vive will be showcased by Valve sometime in January, and it is predicted that since Oculus Rift will sell at $599, Vive could be pricier since it has more products other than the headset. So it might be something above $600.

Questions have also been raised about things like placement of chords and high cost of PCs that power the headsets. More details will be trickling out as HTC Vive comes closer to its 29 February.
