There were speculations ahead of the recent Consumer Electronics Show 2015 (CES 2015) that HTC One (M9) would be unveiled at the event but the Taiwanese company announced the Desire 826, a mid-range device, instead. Now, reports are doing the rounds that release date of the flagship device would fall in the first quarter of 2015.

It is reported that the HTC One (M9), codenamed "Hima", would be unveiled in late March after the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015), though not confirmed.

China-based HTC leaker @upleaks had earlier claimed in a tweet that the HTC One (M9) would be announced like its predecessor HTC One (M8) at a special event and not at the CES 2015 or the MWC 2015. It also went on to claim that the device would and sports a 5-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 screen resolution, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, run on Android 5.0 Lollipop, houses a 2840mAh battery, 20.7MP main camera and 13MP or UltraPixel 4MP front snapper, HTC Sense 7, and come packed with 3GB RAM.

Meanwhile, My Drivers website (via Phone Arena) had claimed in a report that the HTC One (M9) would have a 5-inch display with 2K screen resolution, 64GB internal memory, 3GB RAM, microSD up to 128GB, and 3,500mAh battery. It also claimed that the smartphone would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, houses a 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS), and hinted BOSE duel speakers.

There is also rumour doing the rounds that the Taiwanese smartphone makers would launch two variants of the HTC One (M9) – one to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and the other by 64-bit MediaTek processor that is expected to clock at 2.2 GHz.

However, nothing is confirmed as of now, as HTC is yet to open up on its upcoming flagship smartphone dubbed as the HTC One (M9).
