HTC Desire Eye Pictures, Specifications Surface Online; Smartphone Tipped to Boast 13MP Front Camera

The promo images of the eagerly awaited HTC Desire Eye aka One M8 Eye have surfaced online, just days ahead of the company event scheduled to take off later this week.

Smart device spy Upleaks has posted a flyer of the upcoming Desire Eye, revealing some key features of the smartphone. In the promotional photo, the HTC phone is shown to boast camera modules with dual-LED flash on the sides, confirming speculations that the selfie-centric Desire Eye is most certain to feature a high-resolution camera on the front side.

The poster also shows a couple in a pool taking a selfie underwater, hinting that HTC Desire Eye may boast a water-resistant certification, like we see in Sony's high-end smartphones and Samsung Galaxy S5.

The forthcoming HTC Desire Eye is said to boast a 13.0-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash on both sides, an improvement over its glamourised sibling HTC One M8, which features the overhyped ultra-pixel technology. However, it will still be underpriced, compared to the original flagship model, and will be covered by plastic polycarbonate body with matte finish.

Other expected specifications include a 5.2-inch full HD (1920x1080p) display, 2GB RAM and Snapdragon 801 series quad-core processor, which is said to clock a staggering 2.7GHz CPU speed, 32GB inbuilt memory and 2400 mAh battery (removable).

As of now, the Taiwanese company is yet to respond to the leaked images and specifications of the Desire Eye. Until HTC comes out and clears the air over the rumours, this report will remain as pure speculation.

Word on the street is that HTC Desire Eye is expected to finally see the light of day on 8 October at the company-sponsored "Double Exposure" event in New York City.
