Keita Muramatsu, President and Chief Executive at Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) on Monday (14 December) said that the company will roll out the refreshed models of its existing product line-up in the country next year and will launch one product every month.
The latest reports also indicate the Japanese company is also targeting to bring new models to its Indian line-up.
A report from Motorbeam says the 2016 Auto Expo will be the platform for the launch of CBR300R. While the Japanese company was largely concentrating on commuter segment motorcycles in 2015, the year 2016 will see the arrival and updates of performance motorcycles as well. The current offering in the quarter-litre motorcycle category, the CBR250R has been replaced by CBR300R from 2013 in many global markets.
The CBR300R features a design in line with the CBR1000R, improved power output and lighter kerb weight. The super sport motorcycle features full sport fairing, new dual headlights and new exhaust system, all providing a serious look to the CBR300R.
The CBR300Ris powered by a 286cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that develops 30.4bhp and 27Nm torque mated to six-speed transmission. The improved engine comes with new crankshaft and connecting rod to create a longer engine stroke for added 37cc of displacement. The exhaust system is inspired from the new CBR500R that features larger internal volume for increased performance and throaty exhaust note.
HMSI is reportedly following the footsteps of Kawasaki India who launched the Ninja250 initially and then upgraded to Ninja300. In fact, the Kawasaki Ninja 300 is the main rival for CBR300R in India.
