Honda Car India (HCIL) in its fourth recall of the year voluntarily recalled over 90,210 diesel units of the City sedan and the Mobilio MPV to fix a faulty fuel-return pipe. The recall will affect 64,428 units of diesel variants of City manufactured from December 2013 to July 2015 and 25,782 units of diesel variants of Honda Mobilio manufactured from June 2014 to July 2015.

There is a possibility that in some of these cars, the fuel return pipe may come out, resulting in fuel leakage and leading to engine stoppage, said the company in a statement.

The fuel return pipe and related parts will be replaced free of cost by HCIL at its dealerships from 19 December, 2015, and the owners will be contacted individually. The owners can also check whether their cars are covered under this recall by submitting the 17-character alphanumeric vehicle identification number (VIN) on a microsite on the company's website.

In October, the company recalled 3,879 units of City sedan with CVT gearbox manufactured between February and November 2014 to update the CVT control software to optimise the hydraulic pressure applied. In September, HCIL recalled 2,23,578 vehicles of previous generations of CR-V, Civic, City and Jazz to replace airbag inflators. In May, HCIL recalled of 575 units of CR-V (2004 model) to replace passenger-side airbag inflator and 10,805 units of Accord (2003 – 2007 model) to driver-side airbag inflator.
