Homeland casts, Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin, treated their fans with new details about Peter Quinn and Carrie Mathison in season 6. The season is scheduled to premiere on Showtime in January 2017.

While Danes dished about the wounded CIA officer's therapy session, Patinkin teased a reunion between his character and the female protagonist. They were interacting with the reporters at Paley Center for Media in New York City along with co-star F Murray Abraham and executive producers Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa and Lesli Linka.

The 37-year-old actress of My So-Called Life fame revealed that the prime reason for her character to be back in New York city is her former boyfriend. "Carrie is in New York largely because Quinn is receiving therapy here," Variety quoted her as saying.

However, her mentor Saul Berenson seems to have something else in his mind as Patinkin stated that his character will make all efforts to reunite with Danes' character.

"[He] in a prayerful state that he will reconnect with his child and bring her back into a world where she is destined to be a profound giver and caretaker to humanity. That is her true gift," said the 63-year-old The Princess Bride star.

Meanwhile, executive producer Ganza stated that season 6 of Homeland will focus on counter-terrorism efforts. "Homeland wants to objectively sit back and look at how scared we should be. I don't think Homeland wants to contribute to that fear. ... It's not going to be a story about a bomb going off," TV Guide quoted him as saying.
