Donna Goudeau, the woman who is popular for saying "P.O.P. Hold it down", "barely", and "I'm legally blind", has become the subject of a viral Internet death hoax after a satirical website cooked up the hoax story.

The fake news has been consumed significantly in social networking sites including Twitter and Facebook. And many believed that the woman, who featured in a video that went viral in October this year, was "stabbed to death" by an inmate.

"The P.O.P. Hold it Down lady died in prison,"  a user wrote on Twitter.

"Damn man Donna Goudeau got murdered in prison!!!" tweeted another user.

"No more holding it down. Damn. RIP to Donna Goudeau," posted another user.

The woman in question is a 28-year-old from Jefferson county. A clip from July 2011 news footage went viral on the Internet earlier this year, in which she along with Keyron deWayne Elmore and Jeremy Jomard Goudeau were arrested for the beating, robbing and stabbing a 73-year-old Kansas man, recognised as Juan Sustiata. She was sentenced to 18 years in prison and is scheduled to be released in 2029.

The fake article from Huzlers.com has been liked on Facebook over 2,40,000 times and has been shared on Twitter over 643 times ever since it was released on Tuesday.

"Inmate witnesses say Donna and the Victoria Hendricks began arguing before things heated and Hendricks pulled out a blade and stabbed Donna to death. Witnesses say they are not sure what the two were arguing about. Victoria Hendricks was already serving a 32 year prison sentence prior to the murder," the hoax site said, following the apparent death of Goudeau.

The fake news site posts hoax news articles with the disclaimer: "Huzlers.com is a combination of real shocking news and satire news to keep its visitors in a state of disbelief."

In the most recent case, the same site was responsible for triggering worldwide frenzy with the claim that Earth was going to experience six days of total darkness in December.
