Satire website Huzlers has done it again. It has published a fake story saying Buzz Aldrin did not walk on the Moon and that the entire Apollo 11 Moon landings were faked to cheat the public.

Huzlers, which has fooled many people in the past with fake news articles, had many more lapping up the moon landing hoax story.

Its latest report has a fake quote from Aldrin, the second man to walk on the Moon, apparently admitting to being ashamed for being a part of the fake mission.

"Apollo 11 was not real, none of it was" the website claims Aldrin said in a video he recorded confessing to the Apollo 11 hoax.

"I am ashamed to say this but I cannot hide it anymore, it was a setup, like the ones they use in Hollywood films, back in the 60's, the U.S. was competing with the Soviet Union to achieve space flight supremacy, which was known as the 'space race'. We were afraid the Soviets would beat us to the moon so we decided to fake the moon landings of Apollo 11 to say we were greater than the Soviets" he said.

The website claims that Aldrin even tweeted about the incident on his official Twitter account, writing, "It's time I confess; The Apollo 11 missions, which landed man for the first time on the moon, was staged, none of it was real."

But the tweet, which the outlet claims has been retweeted more than 1,000 times, has been deleted as the "CIA demanded Twitter staff to deleted Buzz Aldrin's tweet."

This year marked the 45th anniversary of the Apollo 11 flight the landed first humans on the moon and safely returned them to Earth. But even now, a number of conspiracy theorists believe the entire incident was staged. In 2002, a lunar truther reportedly called Aldrin a liar for participating in what he believed to be a hoax, which finally led to Aldrin punching the man on his face.

Four months back, Aldrin even took part in a Reddit AMA to quash rumours about the Moon landing being a hoax.

"There is not extraordinary evidence of (as far as I know) all the claims that have been made that we did NOT go to the Moon. There are photographs from lunar reconnaissance orbiter satellites, going around the moon, that clearly show all of the experiments that we described when we came back from the moon, and they are evidence that we were there, telling the truth," he wrote at the time.
