The Indian Air Force's (IAF) Jaguar aircraft crashed in a field in Haryana's Kurukshetra district on Thursday afternoon, leaving the pilot with minor injuries.

"The fighter aircraft crashed in the fields. According to preliminary information, the pilot ejected from the plane before it fell in the fields. He was reported to have sustained injuries," Kurukshetra's Superintendent of Police Simardeep Singh said, according to PTI.

The Pilot had made a distress call before ejection. A helicopter was sent from Ambala to rescue the pilot, who suffered minor injuries in the accident. However, no casualties have been reported so far. Police and the IAF personnel have rushed to the accident site.

The incident took place at around 1:15 pm in Kurukshetra's Landi village, which is located 65 km away from Chandigarh. The aircraft crashed soon after the pilot took off from the Ambala Air base in the afternoon, police said.
