Leaving aside all other revelations made during Microsoft's Gamescom 2015 presser, the one thing that people were curious about was the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians. Thankfully, neither 343 Industries nor Microsoft disappointed.

In the context of games that are set to arrive as Xbox One exclusives later this year, it's natural that Halo 5: Guardians is talked about.

Josh Holmes of 343 struck up a conversation (for video, see below) with the Xbox One team, including Major Nelson, at Gamescom this year, while showing off some of the new content of the title's multiplayer mode.

Holmes showed off a multiplayer map called The Rig for the Arena mode. Holmes revealed that The Rig takes place on a planet called Meridian, which will also feature prominently during the campaign mode. Holmes stated that this map will be asymmetrical and has been tested throughout the game's development phase.

Holmes also talked about the several game modes that will be featured in the game's multiplayer PvP and team modes, including some that have been carried over from previous iterations in the Halo series.

Lastly, he also talked about a brand new Breakout mode that was previously tested out in the beta version of the game. Breakout is set to feature a system where players will start with a single life per round, with mega doses of lethality added to it.

As of now, Halo 5: Guardians is set to be released this October, exclusively for the Microsoft-made Xbox One.

Stay tuned for more updates!
