The second day box office numbers of Shahid Kapoor's "Haider" is in. Shahid's film showed growth on first Friday and earned ₹6.93 crore, taking its overall box office collection to ₹13.07 crore.

"Haider", a well-appreciated movie, is a small budget film released in just 1,100 screens. Director Vishal Bhardwaj and Shahid had previously said that the film will not fetch record breaking collections, but will fare well.

"Haider" relies completely on strong word of mouth. The film received rave reviews on opening day and hence the business showed upward trend on second day.

On the other hand, the business of the big budget movie "Bang Bang" starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif declined on the second day.

Bhardwaj's directorial film was targeted at a niche audience, but due to strong word of mouth the occupancy increased in multiplexes and single screens.

The Indian drama did well in circuits including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi/NCR, Bangalore and Hyderabad, said a statement. Looking at the growth, the film is expected to earn the production cost of ₹24 crore by its opening weekend.

Meanwhile, in overseas market the film has opened on a low note. From the UK box office it raked in ₹22 lakh on opening day, from North America it raked in ₹48 lakh and from Australia it minted ₹10 lakh.

On the other hand, the film might not hit theaters in Pakistan, which is one of the important markets for Bollywood films, as censor board has not given a nod to it.

The film, which features Shahid, Tabu, Kay Kay Menon and Shraddha Kapoor in pivotal roles, is set in the backdrop of Kashmir Valley unrest and the film might not get the much-needed No Objection Certificate from the Pakistan Film Censor Board, Dawn noted citing local reports.
