The Warner Bros are pulling out the big guns for Green Lantern Crops. Since the first movie on Green Lantern did not perform well when Ryan Renolds played the character, the new Green Lantern movie has A-listed actors who can ensure a box office hit.

David Goyer and Justin Rhodes have been hired to write the script for Green Lantern Corps and the first choice for the role is none other the Top Gun star, Tom Cruise.

Cruise is one the best action stars in Hollywood with his recent sixth time blockbuster hit of the Mission Impossible series. Earlier this year, there were talks of Cruise joining the DC universe and this is how he might be introduced into it.

It is clear that the Warner Bros are investing big in this movie but Cruise isn't too happy about it. According to Blind spot from Crazy Days & Nights, there are rumors that the actor has supposedly passed on the role of playing Hal Jordan. He refused the role because the script is written in a manner where the hero dies in the end. The actor has said that he will play the role only if the script is rewritten and his character does not die in the end.

There has been no new progress in the movie yet as Warner bros have not commented anything about it. Since this discussion happened way before in the month of March, the cast for the movie has still not yet been confirmed, according to comicbooks.com

The actor has never played a superhero before. And he will not deny a superhero role either as long as the script is big. "You know, there's always another mountain in anything, in anything," Cruise told MTV earlier this year. "I'll never say no if I find something that's interesting and I think an audience would like to see it and they'll be entertained by it, and I feel like I could contribute something to it", a reported by comicbooks.com.
