Amazon Prime's The Grand Tour host Richard Hammond has escaped another fiery car crash while filming for the second season in Switzerland. Fortunately, the show host was able to get out of the car just before it burst into flames.
The Hamster (fondly called by fans) was driving a Rimac Concept One, an electric supercar built in Croatia, which turned into an unrecognisable mess after the crash. Hammond was attended by the show's paramedics and then airlifted to hospital with a fractured knee.
The Grand Tour said in a statement, "Richard was conscious and talking, and climbed out of the car himself before the vehicle burst into flames. He was flown by Air Ambulance to hospital in St Gallen to be checked over revealing a fracture to his knee.
"Nobody else was in the car or involved in the accident, and we'd like to thank the paramedics on site for their swift response. The cause of the crash is unknown and is being investigated."
Clarkson, his co-host in The Grand Tour, took to Twitter to share his experience. He wrote it was the 'biggest'and 'most frightening' car crash he had ever seen.
It was the biggest crash I've ever seen and the most frightening but incredibly, and thankfully, Richard seems to be mostly OK.

This is not the first time Hammond had survived a crash. During the shooting of The Grand Tour in a remote area of Southern Africa, he had knocked himself out in a motorbike crash. Immediately after the accident, Hammond, who lay unconscious on the road, was treated by the show's paramedics.
Following this incident, Hammond told The Mirror: "I've a beautiful wife and two beautiful daughters. I'm not going to risk leaving them. Not for their sake but for mine."
The former Top Gear presenter nearly died in a collision on the BBC car-themed show in 2006. The star was in the coma for two weeks after the car crash incident. Although he fully recovered from the accident, he suffered from depression, paranoia and memory loss for a while.
The Grand Tour season 2 is expected to arrive on Amazon Prime Video in October 2017.
