It is natural for Nexus fans and gadget lovers to expect big from Google's upcoming smartphone dubbed as the Nexus 5X aka Nexus 5 (2015), after the stupendous success of the original Nexus 5 which was released in 2013. The much-awaited device is now set for release after months of speculations.

Google is still tight-lipped on its Nexus 5X but the handset is likely to be unveiled at its scheduled event set to take place at 12PM ET / 9AM PT on 29 September. The smartphone is expected to be announced along with the Huawei Nexus 6P and both the devices should hit stores after a few days.

What to expect from Nexus 5X:

The Google Nexus 5X is expected to come with a new design and a 5.2-inch full HD display with 1080p, which means its screen resolution will be slightly lower than its predecessor. Under the hoods, it is expected to house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, Android Marshmallow, Adreno 418 GPU, 16/32 GB internal memory, 3GB/4GB RAM, 13 MP main camera and 4 MP front snapper, and 2700mAh battery.

The device is also expected to come with a plastic back, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C connector, fingerprint sensor and Android Pay. A report by Geek Snack has also claimed that it will be priced under $500.

The Google Nexus 5X may hit the headlines again with its features and reasonable price like its predecessor but at the same time disappoint many for two perceived negative features – storage and battery – seen in the Nexus 5. There are reports that it might have a 64GB variant but it would be great if it comes with a microSD card slot.

Users of the original Nexus 5 have a common complaint – short battery life. The upcoming device is expected to house a 2700mAh battery, which is slightly bigger than the 2300 mAh seen in its predecessor, but most people might expect it to come with at least a 3000mAh battery.
