The Google Nexus 5 (2015) is in the limelight with its release date inching closer. It is expected to come with several feature upgrades over its predecessors, so curiosity has started building up around it of late. However, many will still buy the current flagship device -- Motorola Nexus 6 --instead of waiting for the Nexus 5 2nd Generation.

The Google Nexus 5 (2015) is expected to be released in the month of October or November just ahead of the festival season. The smartphone makers are still tight-lipped on the release date of its upcoming device but reports of October-November launch sound reasonable as the Nexus 6 is completing a year's cycle in the market by that time.

Hype around the upcoming Nexus 5 (2015) will have many Google fans and prospective buyers contemplating whether to buy the current flagship device or wait for the new device.

While some may wait for the arrival of the Nexus 5 2nd Gen, as it is expected to come with some noticeable feature upgrades, it doesn't necessarily mean people will not buy the Nexus 6.

Nexus fans and gadget lovers have reasons to buy the Nexus 6 even at this time of the year instead of waiting for the Nexus 5 (2015).

Many, including critics, slammed the Nexus 6 for its bulky size of 6-inch screen at the time of its release. Some even went to the extent of blaming it for the "not-so-satisfactory" sales of the device as compared to its predecessors.

However, people who are used to big screen handsets will love the device for the simple reason that most mobile phone users, who don't want change, are very unlikely to go for a smaller screen handset after getting used to big ones.

There are even chances of a rise in the demand for the Nexus 6 in the next few months as gadget lovers, who prefer bigger screen, are now sure that there is no point of waiting for the Nexus 5 (2015) as it is very likely to come with 5.2-inch display which is .8-inch smaller than the current flagship device.

There is one more reason why gadget lovers should grab the Nexus 6 as soon as possible. One of the complaints against the device at the time of its release was its price, but Google has now cut the price of its Midnight Blue and Cloud White variants.

Google Play Store, Best Buy and Amazon are now offering the 32 GB version of the device for $499 ₹37,000) as against the original price of $649 (₹44,000), while the 64GB version is priced $549 ₹42,000) against $699 (₹49,000) at the time of its launch.

Released in November 2014, the Nexus 6 sports a 5.96-inch with AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1440 x 2560 pixels (493 ppi pixel density), powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 clocking at 2.7 GHz, and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop, upgradable to 5.1 Lollipop. It comes packed with 32/64 GB internal memory and 3 GB RAM, houses a 13 MP main camera and 2 MP front snapper, and a non-removable Li-Po 3220 mAh battery.
