The Good Wife
David Hyde Pierce to be the game changer in 'Message Discipline'.CBS/The Good Wife

It is not the campaign of Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) for State's Attorney that will be the most important thread and mystery of "The Good Wife" season 6 episode 7 titled "Message Discipline." Rather it is the guest appearance of David Hyde Pierce that will prove as the most riveting story.

Meanwhile, Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry) will be back in bond court in the next episode of the American legal drama series.

Here are the four things that viewers must know before "The Good Wife" season 6 episode 7 airs.

1. New candidate to compete against Alicia: In an unusual twist, seventh episode of the American legal drama will revolve around an untold story that will affect Alicia's campaign for State's Attorney. A new contestant will be joining the list of candidates for State's Attorney.

"Eli becomes wary when a new prospective candidate emerges in the race for State's Attorney," reads the official synopsis of "Message Discipline".

2. David Hyde Pierce to be the game changer: Pierce will guest star as a legal commentator Frank Prady in the seventh episode of "The Good Wife" season 6.

"[Pierce] will be playing a political commentator who, upon taking issue with so many problems in Chicago, may decide to run for office. In turn, this could cause even more problems for Alicia," stated CBS, according to a report by KDrama Stars.

3. Cary to be in trouble: Once again, Agos will be back in bond court as Finn Polmar (Matthew Goode) "discovers a piece of potentially devastating evidence against him, which could have ramifications for Alicia and Peter," as per the synopsis.

It remains to be seen whether Polmar will succeed in his efforts to make a move against Florrick in the campaign for State's Attorney, but Alicia is seen disturbed in sneak peek videos of "Message Discipline".

4. Episode 8 spoilers: "Alicia takes on a college rape case which pits her against Louis Canning when it moves from a university hearing to civil court. Meanwhile, Eli and Elfman conduct a political focus group as Alicia dives into her campaign for State's Attorney," reads the official synopsis of "The Good Wife" season 6 episode 8.
