The Girl on the Train actress Emily Blunt talks about shooting the most challenging scene

Actress Emily Blunt, who plays the role of a raging alcoholic Rachel Watson, recently spoke about the movie and what was the most challenging scene for her. Blunt, who was also seen in The Devil Wears Prada, said that the tunnel scene in the film was the most challenging one.

"The tunnel sequence was really challenging for everybody. It was really cold and we were shooting in January and during night, it was like brutal," Blunt said in a statement.

"But also we had to shoot tons of different ways of what you think you can see, but you don't see, the Mr X and the reality of what happened and how much to show of that, from different perspectives... It was such a complicated sequence to shoot for everybody."

Interestingly, the director also said that the tunnel scene was the challenging for him and his team to shoot. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, director Tate Taylor said that he is happy with the work they did in the tunnel.

"All of the work we did in the tunnel. Paula did a great job of creating the idea that something's happened but you don't know what it is, so it was a lot of fun. I had to come up with what happened that night. If you think about it, in the book, Tom's like, "You hit me," whatever. And you don't ever really truly know the chain of events in the novel because you just find out he's a liar. So he just lies about everything but then I realised, "No, we have to construct a chain of events." So that was fun and challenging and kind of unexpected," Taylor told the Hollywood Reporter.

The tunnel scene is one of the important scenes that unfold the crux of The Girl on the Train. The film, starring Blunt and Justin Theroux, is a psychological mystery thriller based on Paula Hawkins' global bestselling novel of the same name.
