Geetha Govindam US box office collection: Vijay starrer beats Fidaa, Agnyaathavaasi lifetime records in 12 days

Vijay Deverakonda's Geetha Govindam has made a superb collection at the US box office in its second weekend and shattered the lifetime records of Fidaa and Agnyaathavaasi in 12 days.

Having collected $1,807,912 in its first week, Geetha Govindam clashed with new releases, which partially affected its collection at the US box office in its second week. But the Parasuram-directed romantic comedy film fared better than new movies like Neevevaro, Lakshmi and Aatagallu in the country in this weekend.

Geetha Govindam has collected approximately $306,237 at the US box office in its second weekend and its per screen average collection stands $700. Its day-wise breakup is $64,627 on Friday, $151,967 on Saturday and $89,643 on Sunday. Its 12-day total collection has reached $2,114,149 in the US.

The collection of Geetha Govindam is much bigger than Neevevaro, which is the highest grosser among the new releases. Idlebrain Jeevi tweeted, "Telugu film grosses on 26 August (Sunday) in USA: #GeethaGovindam (13th day): $89,643 from 128 locations with per loc avg of $700 Total: $2,114,149 #Neevevaro (4th day): $8,943 from 67 locations with per location avg of $133 Total: $60,566 (sic)."

Geetha Govindam has entered the $2 million club in just 11 days and become the 13^th Telugu movie to achieve this feat at the US box office. The movie has gone on to beat the lifetime collection records of Fidaa and Agnyaathavaasi and become the 9th highest grossing Tollywood movie of all time in the country.

Geetha Govindam has also become the fourth highest Telugu grossing of 2018 after Rangasthalam, Bharat Ane Nenu and Mahanati. It should be seen whether it will be able to beat the record of Mahanati to land in the third rank.
