Developer Coalition isn't releasing the upcoming Gears of War 4 titles anytime soon. In fact, the game will reportedly release in 2016. However, several intricate details about the game have been revealed recently, with the latest claiming that Gears of War 4 will support split screen functionality.

In a recent interview, the developers were asked whether the new game will support split screen functionality like its predecessors that made the series one of the most popular in the industry. Now, according to a Gambit Magazine report, the game will indeed feature the popular functionality.

"Still smarting from the Halo 5: Guardians news, I was quick to jump on the issue with the developer's representative. You're not going to drop splitscreen co-op too, are you? Thankfully, he was quick to settle me nerves. He confirmed that Gears of War 4 will continue the series legacy of delivering brilliant splitscreen co-operative play through the campaign," the report states.

This may not mean much to players who have never tried the previous GoW titles. But, those who have, will find this to be a perfect addition to bring back the glorious days of the series. In fact, the detail matters even more now, after it was revealed that the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians won't support the feature.

As of now, Gears of War 4 is set for a Holiday 2016 release.
