Even after seven decades of his demise, Mahatma Gandhi inspires thousands of people across the world. His ideals of non-violence and political and religious peace has been hailed globally.

India is all set to celebrate the birth anniversary of the father of the nation on Friday, 2 October.

Born in Gujarat in 1869 to Karamchand Gandhi and Putlibai, Bapu has been hailed as the symbol of peace, non-violence and freedom.
