The next episode of HBO's "Game of Thrones" titled "The Dance of Dragons" will see Jon Snow making his way back to the Wall after the epic battle of Hardhome.

The previous episode saw the Night's King raising the dead Wildlings with his undead army just when viewers thought the battle was coming to an end. The final moments saw Jon in his boat as the Night's King resurrected the dead Wildlings.

The future of Kit Harington's character is still uncertain, as Jon is presumed dead in George RR Martin's "A Dance with Dragons" after he is attacked by his comrades. Although the next episode will see Jon making his way back to the wall, speculations are rife that he wouldn't last beyond the next episode.

However, if fan theories suggesting that the ice and fire mentioned in "A Song of Ice and Fire" is actually Jon and Daenerys, then it is unlikely the character will die any time soon. According to a theory on comeonhitme.wordpress.com, Jon Snow will lead the army of white walkers against Daenerys and her dragons.

"This theory posits that Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, both Targaryens, will, by the end of the story be on two opposite sides, mirroring the Blackfyre Rebellion," a note on the website read.

Also, another reason why many believe that Jon Snow would end up leading the white walkers is because the Night's King was a former Lord Commander just like Jon Snow.

The Game of Thrones wiki reads: "According to legend, the Night's King lived during the Age of Heroes, not long after the Wall was complete. He was a fearless warrior, who was named the thirteenth Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. Later he fell in love with a woman 'with skin as white as the moon and eyes like blue stars,' he chased her and loved her though 'her skin was cold as ice,' and when he gave his seed to her he gave his soul as well."

Speculations are rife that the Night's King has his eyes on Jon as a possible successor.
