Friendship Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of August every year and this year it falls on the 2nd day of the month. It's a day to recollect those happy moments spent with one's close friends and thank them for those wonderful moments.

The day has a universal appeal, with people from all over, including India, expressing their feelings in their own unique ways.

Nina Dobrev: People aren't defined by their relationship. The whole point is being true to yourself and not losing yourself in relationships, whether romances or friendships.

Ian Somerhalder: I have a million acquaintances but just two or three true friends. I can't hide anything from them.

Just don't go in the washroom.' It was CBGB. I had no idea what it was or the history of all the music. All I knew was this was my first 21-and-over club and I managed to get in!
