The United States of America celebrates 4 July, the day on which the Declaration of Independence was adopted into the country's constitution (in 1776), as its Independence Day. The event is celebrated by Americans with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, and political ceremonies.

Many celebrities have wished their fans a great "#4thofjulyweekend" and "Happy Fourth of July". Beginning with Barack Obama, the president of the United States, here are a few messages that stood out:

Barack Obama (‏@BarackObama): "Happy Fourth of July, everybody. God bless you. God bless America." —President Obama

Gary Busey ‏(@THEGaryBusey): "Happy 4th of July have a safe weekend of celebration. #Buseyisms".
