Forbes 2015 Celeb 100: Mahesh, Kamal, Rajini, Suriya, Rajamouli, Prabhas, Kajal, Shruti make it to list

A total of 15 South Indian stars, including Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal, Shruti Haasan, Rajinikanth, Suriya and SS Rajamouli, have made it to the Forbes 2015 Celeb 100 list.

Popular business and financial magazine Forbes India has published the list of the 100 rich and popular celebrities of the country in 2015. Superstar Mahesh Babu, who top South celebs with 30^th rank in 2014, has gone down to 37^th rank in 2015. Superstar Rajinikanth has also slipped from his 45^th rank in 2014 list to 69^th rank in 2015 list. Prabhudheva has retained his 88^th rank that he had in 2014.

Dhanush and Allu Arjun have climbed up from their 78^th rank and 80^th rank in 2014 to the 37^th rank and 42^nd rank in this year. Superstar Kamal Haasan, N Santhanam, Kajal Aggarwal, Shruti Haasan, Suriya, SS Rajamouli, Ravi Teja, Prabhas and Arya are the new South Indian faces to enter the list of Forbes Celeb 100 this year.

Nine South Indian stars have featured in the Forbes 2014 Celeb 100 list, but this number has gone up to 15, including nine new entrants. Surprisingly, Southern superstars like Vijay, Ajith Kumar, Pawan Kalyan, AR Murugadoss, which were seen in the list of 2014, are missing in the Forbes 2015 Celeb 100 list.

The bosses of Forbes India claim that the rankings in the list are based on estimates of celebs' earnings and media visibility from 1 October, 2014, to 30 September, 2015. "We tracked the media visibility of celebrities across print and television and tabulated their social media reach," reads their statement.
