Former India captain and batting legend Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun Tendulkar was the bowling star as Mumbai thrashed Railways by an innings and 103 runs in the Cooch Behar Under-19 Trophy today (December 19). Like any dad, Sachin would be proud of his son.

Left-arm paceman Arjun took five wickets for 44 runs in the second innings as Railways were bundled out for 136 in 41.2 overs in the four-day contest. He had failed to take a wicket in the first innings.

Match Scorecard

Mumbai had scored 389 all out in 93 overs. Arjun, batting at number seven, had made 21. In reply, Railways were all out for 150 in 42.3 overs. They followed on and failed again the second essay.

Opening bowler Arjun dismissed the openers VP Lande and VB Choudhary caught and later had two LBW dismissals. His fifth and final victim was bowled. Arjun's second innings bowling figures read 11-1-44-5. In the first innings, he bowled six unsuccessful overs for 23 runs (6-1-23-0).

In October this year, Arjun bowled to Indian batsmen including captain Virat Kohli at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium ahead of New Zealand series. Previously, in 2015, he had helped England batsmen at Lord's.

Pakistan pace legend Wasim Akram had praised Arjun. "He is a 15-year-old who is like any other kid in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka -he's very enthusiastic about his cricket. He is a left-arm medium pacer and I gave him some tips on the game," Akram told "NDTV" in 2015.

"I told him a little bit about fitness, on wrist positioning and I explained to him how to bring the ball back onto the right-hander. He had a lot of questions for him and is very passionate about the game, and that is always a good sign," Akram had said.
