Fast and Furious 8 has become the second highest grosser of 2017 after 10 days of its release. FF 8 is slipstreaming Disney's Beauty and The Beast and is likely  gain on the live action movie sooner than later.

The Vin Diesel – Dwayne Johnson starrer's worldwide box office collection stands at over $900 million. The film owes its international success primarily to China. The film grossed over $163.4 million in the dragon country taking its international box office tally to $744.8 million, according to Box Office Mojo.

Fast 8 is at the number one spot for the second week in a row. Though the film raked in a jaw dropping amount internationally, the domestic collections dropped by 61 per cent in the second weekend. F8 earned a total of $38.6 million in its second weekend at domestic box office, the website reported.

FF8 will beat the Emma Watson movie's $1.1 billion mark once it gets released in Japan. The film will debut in Japan on April 28. However, whether the movie will surpass Fast and Furious 7's box office collection (1.516 billion USD) remains to be seen.

If past box office collection patterns are anything to go by, Furious 8 will open to the number 1 spot, just like Disney's Beauty and the Beast. According to Box Office Mojo, Beauty and the Beast opened at #1 spot in Japan, earning $12.8 million.

Fast and Furious' box office success has led Universal to consider a spin off for the movie. Dwayne The Rock Johnson and Jason Statham might team up for a cop movie.

The film is still on drawing board as Deadline.com reports that Chris Morgan, the writer of the previous six Fast and Furious movies, is bouncing ideas for the screenplay. It is also speculated that the Fast and Furious spin off could hit the theatres before the ninth instalment of Fast and Furious.
