Three Bollywood movies – Fanney Khan, Mulk and Karwaan – clashed this Friday at the box office. However, according to early trends, it looks like it is Fanney Khan that stood ahead of the other two films as far as the first-day collection is concerned.

Neither of the three films witnessed any massive occupancy at the theatres on the opening day, but the Anil Kapoor starrer managed to do a better business comparatively. With a star cast comprising Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, the musical comedy beat Mulk and Karwaan on the first-day race.

Fanney Khan collected Rs 2.15 crore at the domestic market on its opening day, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. On the other side, Mulk and Karwaan opened up with a collection of around Rs 1.5 crore each.

All the three films have been appreciated by the critics, but Fanney Khan apparently enjoyed the advantage of the bigger star cast. However, the tables may turn over the weekend, and it is difficult to predict which one of the three would end the weekend on a better note.

All the three releases are of different genres. Mulk is a courtroom drama based on the subject of terrorism. Karwaan is based on the people finding themselves. And Fanney Khan is a musical drama involving, both comedy as well as drama.

It is being said that all the three films had the potential to make it big at the box office if they were not released on the same day. Many feel that they would eat other's share at the box office.
