Team Mercedes seems to be running away with the constructors' championship with Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg in top gear this season. Ferrari is second in the team standings, but are adrift Mercedes by 160 points, which might be a big ask for Ferrari to catch Mercedes.

Though the competition in the top half may not be what formula one fans around the world may want – a tough fight for the title, but teams in the mid-table are really close and they want to finish as high as possible.

Only 18 points separate Force India, Lotus and Sauber with 39, 29 and 21 points in the formula one season at present with nine races completed so far. Force India are currently placed in the fifth position.

Force India have been consistent this season as one of their drivers has been able to score points in most of the races this season. In the last grand prix in Silverstone, both the Force India drivers, Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg, collected some points for their team.

Their major rivals, Lotus, could not secure any points from the British Grand Prix. Force India driver Perez is surprised with Lotus' performance in the circuit this season as they are not able to 'exploit their potential.'

"I am surprised, because when we see all the simulations they seem to be half a second a lap quicker than us - but for some reason, some reliability issues, they haven't been able to exploit their full potential," F1 official website quoted Perez as saying.

"I think they're a big threat."

Though, Toro Rosso might be languishing in the eighth place in the constructors' championship, Perez sees them as another big threat because of their "mega car."

"And Toro Rosso obviously have a mega car, [so] they are the two main ones. With people bringing upgrades every race, it really depends when you look, but Lotus and Toro Rosso should be our target to beat," said Perez.

So with Force India driver already having announced their major competitors in the coming races ahead, the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix on 26 July is going to be an exciting one, where Force India will once again want to add to their points tally.
