Arsenal are gearing up to splash a whopping £42 million for Borussia Dortmund goal-scoring machine Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in this ongoing transfer window.

The Gunners are ready to bolster their forward line, and without doubt will have one of the most threatening frontline if the Gabon striker joins them.

The Sun claimed Aubameyang told his friends about his wish of making a move to the English Premier League (EPL). Aubameyang has already found the back of the net 24 times in 23 appearences for Borussia Dortmund in the current season, and is a force to reckon with.

The Dortmund hotshot has caught the eyes of several managers across Europe, and is one of the most-talked-about players in the ongoing transfer window.

"An intermediary has made contact with Dortmund about Pierre-Emerick making a move to Arsenal. Wenger knows the fee is very high — yet this is a striker who can make a massive difference for him and help win the title for the first time in 12 years. But there is a lot of interest in him," a source close to the development told The Sun.

Arsene Wenger promised earlier that the Gunners would be busy in the January transfer window making Aubameyang one of their primary targets. Arsenal do have the cash to rope in Aubameyang this month, and might as well go for him. Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are also interested in the 26-year-old Gabon forward.

Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud have also been in decent form this season with Mesut Ozil providing them delicious crosses and through balls. Adding Aubameyang to this already upbeat squad might just take Arsenal to a whole new level.

Arsenal will be able to offer Aubameyang a stronger financial package than the other clubs looking to buy him.

Looking at his current form in front of the goal, Dortmund will not be willing to sell their goal-yielding machine. It will indeed be a terrific signing if Wenger manages to lure Aubameyang from Dortmund in this January transfer window.
