Rajinikanth's "Endhiran 2" will be bigger than SS Rajamouli's magnum opus "Baahubali" in terms of budget. Indeed, the early projections say that the makers may shell out an astronomical figure on the science-fiction film.

Rumours are rife that "Endhiran 2" will be made with a budget of Rs 250-300 crore. The forthcoming movie is being produced by billionaire Subaskaran Allirajah's Lyca Productions, which had earlier produced blockbuster "Kaththi" starring Vijay, Samantha and Neil Nitin Mukesh.

Shankar has clearly told the producer that "Endhiran 2" will not be possible with lesser than Rs 250-300 crore. The director and the production house are still planning the budget and the aforementioned amount is just an estimated figure.

It means "Endhiran 2" will break the record of "Baahubali" in terms of budget. The combined budget of two instalments of "Baahubali" is estimated to be Rs 250 crore (Rs 120 crore + Rs 130 crore) to become the highest budget film in India.

"Endhiran 2" has Rajinikanth in the lead role. Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger is said to be playing the role of an antagonist in the flick. The multilingual movie has Amy Jackson in the female lead role and other cast and crew memebrs are yet to be revealed.

Currently, the pre-production works are in full progress. Rajinikanth is in the US to undergo a special makeup test and a body scan.

The first instalment, "Endhiran", was made with a budget of Rs 120+ crore by Sun Pictures. It remains the second highest-grossing movie after "Baahubali" till date. Aishwaya Rai Bachchan had played the female lead in the flick, in which the superstar entertained the audience in dual roles.

"Endhiran 2" is likely to take off on 12 December to coincide with Rajinikanth's birthday. But, the formal shooting of the film begins in the middle of 2016 as a lot of preparation has to be done before beginning the project, which will be released in 2017.
