Elon Musk accidentally 'shared' his personal number on Twitter and when you call it, you're in for a surprise!

How often do you find your favourite celebrity's number online? Not often enough, right?

But there are times when even the smartest people on the planet give out their personal contact details. The latest to do so is the tech-world's real-life Tony Stark — Elon Musk.

The Tesla and SpaceX founder committed a Twitter no-no by accidentally tweeting out his cell phone on the micro-blogging site.

Musk was trying to reach John Carmack, the chief technology officer (CTO) of Facebook's virtual reality subdivision Oculus, on Twitter on December 19 and gave out his number so he could get in touch with the billionaire tech-mogul.

But instead of sending a private message, Musk sent a tweet directly at Carmack, so his 16.7 million followers could see it.

"Do you have a sec to talk? My cell is..." the tweet read before listing a phone number.

The tweet was removed soon after, but we're sure at least a few thousands of his 16.7 million followers must have spotted the opportunity and even tried calling him.

Musk's faux pas did attract a lot of Twitter talk.

Meanwhile, people who dialled the number Musk had posted reportedly heard a recorded message from the popular video game "God of War."

The audio clip, recorded by game creator David Jaffe, is one of two secret codes hidden in the game. "By the Gods you've done it," the message says. "Somehow you've found your way here to me. I offer you my congratulations and my respect."
