Onam went special for superstar Mammootty this year, as he celebrated his 63rd birthday on the day with the cast and crew of his latest flick "Varsham". His wife, Sulfath also joined the celebration.

The film's crew organised a small function and Mammootty distributed cake to everyone present there. With little reluctance, the superstar told the media that he is happy to celebrate his birthday on the auspicious day of Malayalees.
Mammootty, the three time National award winner is one of the pioneers in South Indian cinema. The actor is on a high as his latest films "Munnariyippu" and "Rajadhiraja" are running successfully in theatres.
Mammootty is currently acting in Ranjith Shankar's "Varsham", which is touted as a family entertainer. The film has Mamta Mohandas and Asha Sharath in the lead, and the veteran actor will play the role of Venu, a business man in Thrissur.
TG Ravi plays the villain role, Peter, after a long gap and the film is about Venu and his struggles and rift with Peter.
Meanwhile, the young brigade of Malayalam cinema made a small video wishing Mammootty on his birthday and shared it on Facebook.
The video began with a song by Nadirshah followed by wishes from actors like Honey Rose, Bhavana, Vijay Babu, Priya Mani, Meera Nandan, Shrinda Ashab, Nivedha Thomas, Sajid Yahiya, Janani Iyer, Lena, Vinay Forrt, Maqbool Salmaan, Sarayu, Ansiba Hassan, Dinesh Nair, Gauthami Nair, Aju Varghese, Jayasurya, Tini Tom, Unni Mukundan, Namitha Pramod, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Shaalin Zoya, Thezni Khan, Guinness Pakru, Kottayam Nazeer, Aparna Gopinath among others.
