Stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma has denied allegations of misbehaving with some female artists at the International Marathi Film Festival 2015.

It was reported that Kapil Sharma, who rose to fame with the show titled "Comedy Nights With Kapil" (CNWK), was in a drunken state and misbehaved with some female celebrities including Tanisha Mukherji and Monali Thakur during the award show.

Now, Kapil has responded to the allegations.

The "Comedy Nights With Kapil" host denied the charges saying that he was not present at the event.

"I don't know where this news came from. First of all I want to clarify that I was not present at the award function. I don't know who made a mountain out of a mole-hill. I believe everyone is like me, who loves everybody. But there are some people who made these news," Times of India quoted Kapil as saying.

Early reports also stated that Kapil's supposed girlfriend Preeti Simoes, who was also present at the award function, left the venue after being embarrassed by the former's behaviour.

This reported incident was followed by a tweet from Kapil in which he said, "I fall, I rise, I make mistakes, I live, I learn, I've been hurt but I am alive.i am human, I am not perfect but I am thankful :)." (sic)

The comedian was recently honoured with the PETA Person of the Year award.
